Dashboard Overview
Understand the main dashboard — the first screen you see when you log in, with live data across all your locations.
What You See When You Log In
Your daily control centre at a glance.
The dashboard is the first screen you see every time you log in to the TempClock manage portal. It is designed to give you an immediate snapshot of what is happening across all your locations right now — who is on site, how many hours have been worked today, and anything that needs your attention.
The dashboard updates automatically in real-time. You do not need to refresh the page — as workers clock in and out, the numbers and lists update by themselves.
Summary Cards
Four key numbers that tell you what is happening right now.
The four cards at the top of the dashboard give you the most important numbers at a glance. Here is what each one shows:
The number of workers currently on-site across all your locations. This number goes up when someone clocks in and down when they clock out.
The total number of hours worked so far today by all workers, across all locations. This updates continuously throughout the day.
How many of your locations have at least one worker clocked in right now.
Workers who clocked in but forgot to clock out. This needs your attention — you may need to manually add their clock-out time.
If the Missing Clock-Outs card shows a number greater than zero, click on it to see which workers are affected. You can fix each one by editing their timesheet entry and adding the correct clock-out time.
Currently On-Site List
See exactly who is at which location right now.
The "Currently On-Site" panel shows a live list of every worker who is currently clocked in. For each worker, you can see:
This list refreshes automatically every few seconds, so you always have an accurate picture of who is where. If you manage multiple locations, you can filter the list by location to focus on a specific site.
The on-site list is particularly useful if a client calls asking how many workers are at their site right now. You can answer immediately without needing to phone the site.
Recent Activity Feed
A timeline of the latest clock-ins, clock-outs, and alerts.
The activity feed shows a timeline of recent events across all your locations. Each entry is colour-coded so you can quickly spot different types of activity:
A worker has clocked in
A worker has clocked out
A problem that needs attention (e.g. missing clock-out, failed clock-in)
A system event (e.g. shift published, timesheet approved)
The feed shows the most recent events first. You can scroll down to see older activity, or use the date picker to look at a specific day.
Keep an eye on red dots in the activity feed. These usually mean something needs fixing, such as a worker who forgot to clock out or a failed facial recognition attempt.
Quick Action Buttons
Jump to common tasks straight from the dashboard.
At the bottom of the dashboard (or in the top-right area, depending on your screen size) you will find quick action buttons that take you to the most common tasks:
Quick actions are just shortcuts. Everything they link to is also accessible from the main sidebar navigation.
Customising Date Ranges
Change the time period shown on the dashboard.
By default, the dashboard shows data for today. You can change this to look at a different time period using the date picker in the top-right corner.
Click the date picker
Click the date or date range shown in the top-right corner of the dashboard. A dropdown will appear with preset options.
Choose a preset or custom range
Select from the preset options:
- Today — current day only
- Yesterday — the previous day
- This Week — Monday to today
- Last Week — the previous full week
- This Month — 1st of the month to today
- Custom Range — pick any start and end date
Dashboard updates
The summary cards, on-site list, and activity feed all update to reflect the selected time period. The "Workers Clocked In" card always shows the current live number, regardless of the date range selected.
The Custom Range option is useful for looking at specific periods, such as the previous bank holiday week or a particular month for a client review.
