The Fire Register gives you a real-time list of every person currently on site, so you always know who to account for in an emergency.

What Is the Fire Register?

A real-time roll-call list for every location.

The Fire Register is a live list of everyone who is currently on site at each of your locations. It updates automatically as people clock in, clock out, sign in as visitors, or register as contractors. At any moment, you can open it and see exactly who is in the building.

In the event of a fire, evacuation, or any emergency, the Fire Register acts as your digital roll-call sheet. Instead of relying on paper sign-in books, you get an accurate, up-to-the-minute list that you can view on any device or print out on the spot.

Who Appears on the Fire Register?

Three types of people are tracked.

The Fire Register shows three categories of people. Each category is clearly labelled so you can tell at a glance who is a worker, who is a visitor, and who is a contractor.

Workers

Staff who have clocked in at the kiosk and have not yet clocked out

Visitors

People who have signed in through the visitor sign-in screen

Contractors

External contractors who have signed in for work at the location

Filter by Location

View the register for a specific site.

If you manage multiple locations, the Fire Register shows a location filter at the top of the page. Use it to switch between sites and see who is on site at each one. You can also select All Locations to see everybody across your entire organisation in one list.

Tip

During a fire drill, select the specific location being evacuated to see only the people at that site.

Total Headcount

See how many people are on site right now.

At the top of the Fire Register, a prominent headcount shows the total number of people currently on site. This is broken down by type so you can quickly see the numbers at a glance.

Using During a Fire Drill or Emergency

How to use the register when it matters most.

When a fire alarm sounds or an evacuation is called, the Fire Register becomes your most important tool. Here is the recommended process:

Open the Fire Register

On any device with internet access (your phone, a tablet, or a laptop), log in to TempClock and open the Fire Register. If you are already logged in, it takes just one tap.

Select the affected location

Use the location filter to show only the site that is being evacuated. This narrows the list to just the people you need to account for.

Call the roll

At the assembly point, read through the list and check off each person as you find them. The list shows names, roles, and sign-in times to help you identify everyone.

Print if needed

If you prefer a paper copy, click the Print Register button. The register prints in a clear, easy-to-read format that is perfect for ticking off names with a pen.

Important

Practise using the Fire Register during routine fire drills so everyone knows the process before a real emergency.

Printing the Fire Register

Get a paper backup in seconds.

The Print Register button is always visible at the top-right corner of the Fire Register page. When you click it, TempClock generates a printer-friendly version of the current list with checkboxes next to each name. Simply print it from your browser and take it to the assembly point.

Shows every person currently on site with their name and category
Includes checkboxes next to each name for manual tick-off
Shows the date and time the register was printed
Formatted to fit on standard A4 paper

Best Practices

Get the most out of the Fire Register.

Important

Keep the kiosk running throughout the day so that clock-in and clock-out data is always current. If the kiosk is turned off, the Fire Register may not reflect who is actually on site.

Keep kiosks running — the register is only as accurate as the clock-in data
Encourage sign-outs — remind visitors and contractors to sign out when they leave
Run fire drills — test the register at least once a quarter
Bookmark it — save the Fire Register page on your phone for quick access
Print occasionally — keep a printed copy at the front desk as a backup
